Create New Pages & Posts

Creating new pages and blog posts in WordPress is quick and easy. Whether you’re building a new page or writing your next blog post, the process starts the same way.

Create a New Page or Post

You can create new content in either of these ways:

Option 1: Click + New in the WordPress admin toolbar and choose Page or Post.

Option 2: In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Pages → Add New or Posts → Add New.

Once the editor opens, enter your page or post title.

Build Your Layout

Rather than starting from a blank page, you can use your Hello You Designs library to speed up the process.

Add:

• Individual design blocks
• Pre-designed sections
• Complete page layouts

Mix and match layouts to create a page that’s unique to your website.

Publish Your Content

When you’re finished, click Save Draft, Publish, or Update to save your changes.

Add a New Page to Your Navigation

If you’ve created a page, it won’t automatically appear in your website’s navigation.

To add it:

Step 1: Go to Appearance → Menus.

Step 2: Select your new page.

Step 3: Add it to your menu and save your changes.

Pages vs. Posts

Posts

New blog posts are automatically added to your blog archive and will appear in your blog feed based on your settings.

Pages

Pages are designed for standalone content like About, Contact, Services, Resource pages, and landing pages. They only appear in your navigation if you choose to add them.

Hide the Page Title & Extra Spacing

Most Hello You Designs page layouts look best with the default page title and top spacing disabled.

Step 1: Open your page in the editor.

Step 2: Click the Page Settings icon at the top of the editor.

Step 3: Set Disable Page Title to On.

Step 4: Set Content Vertical Spacing to Disabled.

These settings create the clean, full-width layout used throughout the theme demos.
