Quick Things To Try First

Many common issues can be fixed in just a few minutes. Before submitting a support ticket, work through these troubleshooting steps.

Most compatibility issues are caused by third-party plugins rather than your theme.

Step 1: Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
Step 2: Deactivate any plugins that aren’t required by your theme.
Step 3: Clear your website and browser cache.
Step 4: Check your website to see if the issue has been resolved.

If the problem is fixed, reactivate your plugins one at a time, testing your website after each one. This will help you identify which plugin is causing the issue.

Helpful Tip: Caching, optimization, security, and page builder plugins are the most common cause of theme conflicts.

Cached files can sometimes prevent recent changes from appearing on your website.

Step 1: Clear any caching plugins installed on your website.
Step 2: If your host provides caching tools (such as SiteGround Optimizer, WP Rocket, Cloudflare, etc.), clear those caches as well.
Step 3: Clear your browser cache or open your website in a private/incognito window.
Step 4: Refresh your website and check if the issue has been resolved.

Helpful Tip: If your website still looks incorrect after making changes, caching is often the first thing to check. Old cached files can make it appear as though updates haven’t been applied.

Running the latest versions of WordPress, your Hello You Designs theme, Kadence, and Kadence Blocks helps ensure everything works as expected.

Step 1: Go to Dashboard → Updates and install any available updates.
Step 2: Update your Hello You Designs theme, Kadence Theme, Kadence Blocks, and any required plugins.
Step 3: Compare your versions with the recommended minimum versions listed in your Theme Guide.
Step 4: After updating, clear your website and browser cache, then check if the issue has been resolved.

Helpful Tip: Using older versions of WordPress, Kadence, or your theme can lead to missing features, styling issues, or unexpected errors. Keeping everything up to date is one of the easiest ways to prevent compatibility problems.

Sometimes the WordPress editor simply needs to refresh after making changes.

Step 1: Click Update (or Save Draft) to save your page.
Step 2: Refresh your browser.
Step 3: Reopen the page and check if the issue has been resolved.

If the problem continues, try making the change again after refreshing the editor.

Helpful Tip: Refreshing the editor often resolves temporary issues such as blocks not updating, settings not appearing, or changes that don’t seem to save properly.

Using an outdated version of PHP can cause import issues, editor errors, and other unexpected problems.

  1. Go to Tools → Site Health → Info → Server.
  2. Locate your PHP Version.
  3. Compare it with the recommended minimum listed in your Theme Guide.
  4. If it’s below the recommended version, contact your web host to update it.

Helpful Tip: We recommend using PHP 8.2 or newer for the best compatibility and performance.
