Demo Content Won’t Import
If your demo content doesn’t finish importing, gets stuck, or your website doesn’t look like the demo after the import, don’t worry. Most import issues can be resolved in just a few minutes.
Step 1: Try the Import Again
The demo import can take 5–10 minutes to complete, depending on your hosting provider.
If the importer appears stuck or ends with an error:
- Refresh the page.
- Run the import again.
Sometimes a second attempt is all that’s needed.
Step 2: Temporarily Disable Plugins
If the import still doesn’t complete:
- Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
- Deactivate all plugins except:
- Kadence Blocks
- Kadence Starter Templates (or Kadence AI Starter Templates)
Run the demo import again.
Step 3: Ask Your Host to Increase WordPress Memory
If the import still fails, contact your web host and send them this message:
Please increase my WordPress memory limit to 512M and my post_max_size to 50MB.
Once the changes have been made, run the import again.
Bluehost Users
Bluehost sometimes requires higher server limits.
Ask Bluehost support to:
- Increase your WordPress Memory Limit to 512M
- Increase post_max_size to 1000M
If the import still doesn’t complete, ask Bluehost to temporarily disable Cloudflare, then run the import again. Cloudflare can be re-enabled afterward.
SiteGround Users
SiteGround’s optimization plugins can sometimes interfere with the demo import process or prevent your website from displaying correctly after the import.
Before importing your demo content, temporarily deactivate any SiteGround plugins, including:
- SiteGround Optimizer
- SiteGround Security (if enabled)
- Any other SiteGround performance or caching plugins
Once the plugins have been deactivated:
- Run the demo import again.
- After the import is complete and your website looks correct, you can reactivate the plugins one at a time.
Helpful Tip
If your website looks different than the demo after activating the SiteGround plugins again, clear your SiteGround cache and browser cache before continuing to customize your site.
Still Having Trouble?
If the import still isn’t working:
- Make sure your website is the required minimums, which can be found in your theme guide.
- Try the import again after your hosting changes have been made.
- If your website still doesn’t match the demo, we’re happy to help.
Helpful Tip: Demo imports are usually limited by your web hosting—not the theme itself. Faster hosting typically completes the import much more reliably.
